Sonexa
Last updated : August 5, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Sonexa collects, why, and what your rights are. The data controller is Rêves aériens (revesaeriens@gmail.com).
• Account data: email address, display name and unique identifier, collected when you sign up through our authentication provider Clerk.
• Content you create: audio recordings of your classes, transcripts, summaries, quizzes, flashcards and study statistics.
• Usage data: transcription time consumed (monthly quota), badges and progress, purchase history of hour packs.
• Local preferences: interface language and reminder settings, stored only on your device.
We do not collect your location or your contacts, and we do not use any advertising trackers.
Your data is processed to: provide the service (recording, transcription and generation of study materials — performance of the contract); manage your account and subscription (performance of the contract); measure your hours quota (performance of the contract); respond to your requests (legitimate interest).
No data is sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes.
To operate, Sonexa relies on technical providers that process certain data on our behalf:
• Clerk, Inc. (United States) — authentication and account management.
• OpenAI (United States) and Groq, Inc. (United States) — transcription of audio recordings and generation of summaries, quizzes and flashcards. Audio excerpts are sent to these providers solely for transcription; audio files and texts sent through their APIs are not retained by the provider to train their models.
• RevenueCat, Inc. (United States) — management of subscriptions and in-app purchases, together with the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google).
• Replit, Inc. / Google Cloud (United States) — hosting of the application, database and audio files.
These transfers outside the European Union are covered by appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can delete a class (and its recording) at any time from the App. You can also enable automatic deletion of the audio after transcription (the text is kept, the recording is erased). When a transcription fails, the audio recording is kept temporarily so you can retry it without re-uploading, then automatically deleted from our servers after 14 days if you do not retry. If you delete your account, which you can do directly in the App (dedicated button in your profile), all of your data is deleted, except where retention is legally required (e.g. purchase receipts managed by the App Store or Google Play).
In accordance with the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data.
You can permanently delete your account and all of your data directly in the App, via the dedicated button in your profile. You can also export all of your data in JSON format from the App (right to data portability). For any other request, write to revesaeriens@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
Exchanges between the App and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to your recordings and content is restricted to your authenticated account.
Sonexa is intended for students. If you are under 15, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required to create an account.
Sonexa provides a recording and transcription tool; how you use it is your sole responsibility. You are solely responsible for obtaining, before recording any third party (classes, meetings, interviews…), the necessary authorizations and consents from the people being recorded (teachers, speakers, participants), in accordance with applicable law.
To limit the retention of audio data, you can enable automatic deletion of the audio after transcription in your profile settings.
This policy may be updated. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the App. The date of the last update appears at the top of this document.
